IGSM 3-Week English Conversation Class
“All American Idioms”
Dear Graduate Students and Visiting Scholars,
My name is Carolyn Yu and I am the coordinator for IGSM’s English Class.
As our first summer class “Current Events through American Media” ended recently, we want to invite you to join our second summer class entitled “All American Idioms.”
Here are some details about the class:
Dates: Three (3) Sundays (7/11, 7/18, 7/25)
Time: 9:00-11:00am
Place: YWCA Berkeley Building, 2nd floor
(We are not affiliated with YWCA’s English in Action program)
Address: 2600 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94704 (at Bowditch St.)
Instructors: Certified ESL teachers or UCB graduate students, all native speakers
The focus of this three-week class is to improve your conversational English skills by learning common American idioms and expressions. Students will be introduced to a selection of widely used idioms, acronyms, and phrases; learn their meanings; and explore appropriate contexts to use them in. In addition, you will have the opportunity to do role-play activities so you can practice using the idioms you learned in interesting, true-to-life situations.
Please sign up at the link below to register for the class.
