Dear friend,

If you're an international student, scholar or family member here in Berkeley, Palo Alto or Oakland area, you are invited to participate in the "TalkTime" English Conversation Programs. TalkTime is a great opportunity for non-native English speakers to sharpen their English conversation skills and to make friends with Americans and students from other countries. The teachers are very nice American volunteers, many have experience in teaching English as a second language and some have taught English overseas. You will have a lot of opportunity to speak as well as practice your listening comprehension in the small classes. The atmosphere is casual and friendly and the class is free. You may also bring your questions to the class to get help.

Hear some of the encouraging feedback from the students and scholars:

"Finally, today someone pointed out what I have been saying wrong since I started learning English 15 years ago." - Bonnie

"I only wish that I had found this group sonner. Now I am going back to my country in a month" - a visiting scholar in Stanford

"Though I come to the class for learning English, I eventually learned a lot more than that in these days from you guys. You can't imagine how happy I was every class's morning. Seeing everyone, talking to you, and playing with Joyce and JJ is something hard to forget. And it's all because of you and David's dedication. So I really think I owe you two a big hug!" - Mindi's email

"Thank you for your kindness and your help. Due to your arrangement, I had a good time in TalkTime English Conversation Club..." -Natsumoto's email

"...By the way, many thanks for your nice work that we can practice oral English and know so many nice friends, but I should go back China about the middle ten days of Dec in this year. I will miss you all." -Wang's email

"If I come back, I will join the group again!" -Yu

Format: Each time we will discuss a general-interest topic in groups of probably 2 to 4 people, including one native English speaker leading each group. Cultural presentations and activities at times. Optional Bible video viewing and discussion follows. This is a wonderful opportunity to sharpen your English while making friends! It will be a lot of fun. Please join us!

Qualification: International students, scholars, professional, graduates and their spouse or parents are all welcome. Childcare provided. Space limited. First come first serve. Please signup soon.
